Here are some tips to package your originals securely.
-
We recommend using the prepaid flat rate cardboard mailers or boxes with tracking services available from Canada Post.
*Bubble mailers or paper envelopes do not offer protection against damage.
Place each group of photos, negatives, or loose slides in sealable bags and then in the cardboard mailer or box.
-
Wrap glass negatives and tintypes individually in paper towel. Stack together in a sealable bag.
*Glass negatives are best shipped in boxes rather than cardboard mailers.
Leave slides in the original trays, carousels, or containers. If they don't have lids, secure them with plastic wrap.
-
Put documents in file folders or large envelopes sandwiched between cardboard for support.
Fill loose space in boxes with bubble wrap or packing paper to prevent movement during shipping. * Shredded paper is too dusty for sensitive media
Tape the box very well and mark as FRAGILE.
